OUR TOP PLANTS FOR FULL SHADE OR PART SHADE

Dicentra (bleeding hearts), Ajuga, Astilbe, Fern, Heuchera, Hosta,  Helleborous, Rhododendron, Azalea, Primroses, Foxgloves, Campanula, Peony, Aquilegia & Buxus.

 

BEST BULBS FOR SHADED AREAS; Snowdrops, Bluebells, Camassia, Lily of the valley, Hardy cyclamen, (Erythronium), Begonias (which are not frost hardy), Bearded Iris, Lilies (will tolerate part shade) & Scilla siberica. Fritillaria imperialis is also a good bulb for a shaded area, however if it is also a wet area they do tend to rot away, even if you have planted it on its side.
